Troy-Bilt's Best of 2015

There's no question the end of the year is a busy time, especially with the holiday season in full swing. And while some may often be running from one errand or holiday function to the next, it's important to take a break and reflect on the past year and all that's been accomplished.

For us, it's been a year of industry firsts and groundbreaking announcements, making 2015 one of our most exciting years yet.

From product launches to partnering with an organization that is changing the world one seed at a time, here are a few of our best moments of 2015:

  • Product Launches: Spring was filled with first-of-its kind product launches, including the introduction of FLEX to the outdoor power equipment industry. FLEX is a customizable yard care system that consists of one engine that accepts multiple attachments, allowing you to tackle all your outdoor tasks year-round. Currently, FLEX attachments include the Wide-Area Mower, Pressure Washer, Leaf Blower, and Snow Thrower, with these attachments launching in spring 2016 - a water pump, tine dethatcher, and plug aerator. The launch of Bronco' Axis' Vertical-Tine Garden Tiller was another industry first, as its vertical tines work together like a giant eggbeater, spinning in opposite directions as they break into the ground for a smooth, quick tilling experience. Other product launches included the Mustang Pivot' 46 Zero-Turn Rider and TB430 Gas Leaf Blower.
  • Giving Back: Troy-Bilt introduced the first rototiller in 1937 and we've stayed true to our heritage and passion for gardening ever since. This commitment stayed strong in 2015 as we partnered with Katie's Krops as part of the Taking Root' gardening program. Katie's Krops is a nonprofit gardening grant and education program that aims to end hunger by encouraging 9- to 16-year olds to plant vegetable gardens and donate the fresh produce they harvest to a local charity of their choice. Taking Root funded six Katie's Krops gardens, which collectively harvested and donated nearly 3,000 pounds of produce to their local charities. Troy-Bilt equipment was also donated to all 83 Katie's Krops gardens to help growers maintain their vegetable gardens.

Additionally, Troy-Bilt teamed up with Planet in Action - a nonprofit that helps organizations in their ongoing efforts to improve and beautify communities across the U.S. and internationally - to donate various pieces of equipment to 20 community service organizations. These products were used to clean up and maintain gardens, parks, and other greenspaces.

  • Saturday6': This was the fifth year of our Saturday6 program as we welcomed a new group of bloggers into the mix. Throughout the year, these gardening, lawn care, and DIY experts shared their know-how through tips, projects, and product reviews that help make time out in the yard more efficient and enjoyable.
  • How We're Built Test Events: Picking the right equipment to keep your yard in top-notch shape is important. That's why we visited 105 Lowe's® stores across the country to give customers a chance to test and learn about different Troy-Bilt products as part of our How We're Built test events. With so many new products and exciting announcements on the horizon, we're looking forward to bringing the test events back in 2016.

It's been a great year. Thanks to all those involved in helping us along the way!
