Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would be great if it would start Bought 4 months ago. Harder to start every time. Couldn't start it by hand after second time. Would start by drill & chuck but harder each time. Now it won't start at all. I have 6 attachments for this unit that I had bought for the previous 4cycle Troybilt unit I had. It was not great, but with several carburetor cleanings and hose replacements it lasted 6 years. And please don't talk about gas used. I only use ethanol free gas with a stabilizer for everything but cars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage!!!!! less than a year old and going in the trash. pull starter broken, have to take it off and re-install to get it to engage, won't run for more than 10 minutes when it does start. i've kept clean oil in it, and only used non-ethanol fuel, still not worth a dime. I will never buy another troybilt product of any kind!!! garbage products!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped workign just short of two years. Top heavy and not well balanced. After about 15 min of working with it, you'll get very tired trying to keep it under control. Also, it functioned fine earlier this spring, then just stopped. I maintained it regularly and took good care of it, but after over an hour of trying to get it to start, i can't even get so much as a stutter-start. I checked the plug cable and it's firmly attached. Oil level is clean (from change very early spring) and gas level is more than adequate. This is the 2nd Troy built I've had and I thought if I went up to a more expensive model it wouldn't die like the first one. Overall, the build quality seems to be a bit worse that the prior model....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I bought this unit last fall. Used it for a few hours and put it away for the winter. Went to use it this spring and it would not start. Took it to warranty repair shop and after a month a a half I now have it back, but according to the repair person, this unit is a piece of junk. It uses too many plastic parts in the engine. The reason it would not start is that the fan "broke" inside the unit due to plastic fasteners. According to the repair person, it is only a matter of time before it breaks again, or another plastic part breaks. Who would use plastic parts in an engine?? Apparently Troy Bilt. If I could get my money back I would take my repair man's advice and get rid of the piece of junk and get a different brand. The only positive thing I can say is Troy Bilt did take care of the problem with its warranty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage Bought one last year thinking the most expensive one on Lowe's shelf would last me a long time. Lasted 3/4 the mowing season, pull start wouldn't start it anymore. I thought to myself..."Good way to convince the wife to get the easy start, ya know since it was expensive". Rolled over twice and only ran for 2 minutes total before dying out. Now it just spins in place not catching the starter after it got a little warm. Complete waste of time and money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I trust Jim Jones’ flavor aid over this Bought it last year in April. I used it no more than 10 times for 20 mins at most. I only use ethanol free gas. Pull cord feels horrible . I was using it the other day and shut off on me. Won’t start back up. Hopefully the service place can replace under warranty. Do yourself a favor and stay away. This is my first product from Troybilt and my last. Should of read some reviews before I purchased this poor quality trimmer. People prolly get annoyed by returning this for a warranty and give up. Junk

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I have had this trimmer for a year and from the start, it has had issues such as acting fuel starved, misfiring and shutting off when the head is under any kind of load. I am very impressed however with my 2 cycle curved shaft Troy bilt trimmer and I highly recommend it over this for any kind of load bearing work like normal trimming or using attachments. This TB6044 should only be used for touch ups on very fine grass

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly designed Pull start us designed to fail. Quick start is a joke. Strips out after a few uses. Now it won't start at all.
