Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 years no problems I bought this mower 4 years ago, it was called the "Horse" back then. Same engine same transmission, same 46" deck. I have an acre of land, hilly, and a challenge to mow. I have never had a problem with this rider, it tackles everything. You can not engage the blades unless you have the engine in the fast setting. If you engage the blades in a slower speed, you will ruin the transmission as it seems some have done in these one star reviews I've read here. For all you dummy's giving this a one star, read the manual before you go crazy cutting your grass. Troy Built has always taken care of me, I also have a self propelled mover (10 years now, runs great, still one pull) and an edger. All work like the day I bought them. Great products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time saver Bought a new home with 5+ acres, but still had my Troybilt walk behind. Took me several hours to accomplish cutting the grass on the property. Purchased this mower last season and now I only spend about 1 hour.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lemon, worthless This mower had to sent in for service 4 times while under warranty for the same problem, the blades would not engage. Sometimes if I sit with the lever down (engaged) it might begin to turn after a couple of minutes. Two different companies have tried to fix it with no success.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spindles I love my Troy-Bilt don't get me wrong I have owned it for two years and every year I have to buy new spindles for it would be an awesome riding lawn mower if the spindles didn't go bad every year might want to consider doing something about it just because I'm a woman don't think that I don't know what I'm talking about

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just keeps on cutting I had an elderly neighbor who bought this mower 5 plus years ago and when he died it was left to me. With proper care it has just keep going and cuts and runs like new. It's my best friend when lawn care is needed. Do yourself a favor and go Troybilt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from EZ mowing & maintenance I have the mower for 2 years now and cut approximately 1 acre a week. Pros Cuts great. And EZ to maintain ,oil, filter lube. Has good visability you sit nice and high on the machine.Con. Since new the ignition button sticks on the start position, if I don't remember to pop lt back out when turning the mower off will run the battery down and will have to jump start it the following week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my secound Troy Bilt Riding Mower I bought my first Troy Bilt riding mower in 2005 an cut my 1 acre lot with it until 2015 without any major problems. It was a 42" cut Pony. In 2015 I donated it, still in running condition, to a local church, and purchased my 46" cut, hydrostatic drive mower. I have mowed my yard at least once a week, sometimes twice since purchasing it. Other than normal service I did replace the blades a few months ago and had to replace the one belt that drives the mowing deck a few days ago. I have owed several riding mowers over the last 50 years and I don't expect to have to purchase another one in my lifetime, as I am 72, but if I do it will definitely be a Troy Bilt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems Had to replace the carburetor this season. Replacement parts are to high! The Steering gear anchor bolt keeps coming loose. Have to check monthly. The Exhaust Manifold bolts, fell out last season. Almost impossible to locate, finally found some on my own. Have to use heavy thread lock to even keep them in. Blow by at start up is bad until it burns off. Valve stem seals/stem seats probably.
