The TB30 R hydro rider lawn mower's smaller frame, 30" cutting deck and 18" turning radius, couples the benefits of a standard riding lawn mower with the size of a wide cut walk-behind. The TB30 R also features a comfortable medium-back seat, LED headlight and telescoping steering wheel. Hydrostatic transmission provides less maintenance, allows smooth acceleration and requires no shifting to change either direction or speed.

TB30 R Hydro Neighborhood Rider is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 45.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Little BIG mower Having a decent size yard with a failing push mower I decided to upgrade to a ride on mower, but I was limited because my gate only opened 38 inches wide. So after some research I purchased the TBR-30 inch ride on mower, one of the smallest ride-ons available so I didn't expect much in the way of speed or durability. To my surprise this little red jet sails across my lawn with ease; it does a big job and yet it doesn't take up much space in my garage. So for me, this is a win win.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love this Mower! I cut my large lawn (approx. 1/6th acre) for years with a push mower. I purchased this hydro TB mower in the middle of the summer last year so I now have a cutting season and a half's experience with it. First off, I think paying the extra money to get the mower with the hydrostatic feature is absolutely worth it, given the comparative ease of operation and maneuverability that provides. I agree with the other reviewers comments about the difficulty of using the mower to easily reach close or obstacle areas, so I overcome that by using my push mower to first do one pass around the perimeter of the lawn and any "odd" features, e.g., around a lighthouse and well-bib cover. I do that and use an edger to clip the fine edges first. I save the TB30R Hydro to finish the job, as I actually look forward to using this mower (I save the best for last). When you don't have to forward/reverse (which you can do) to maneuver around odd spots, it's almost like a go-cart ride to finish your cutting job. It is loud using the 5 inch (maximum) cutting height (really that's OK as it is a riding lawn mower), but I've found the decibel level seems to lessen when using cutting levels less than 5 inches. The handling and steering of this mower are great and easy to learn. After a minute or two's explanation, my girlfriend was using this rider very effectively...when she's around when the mowings being done, she always wants to get some time using this rider. Most importantly, the lawn looks great after using the TB30R Hydro; I use the mulching feature to cut, and then go twice over an area to mulch clippings. The result is a smooth, beautiful look...my lawn has never looked so good. It's easy to change the oil after a season, and I just purchased a TB mower lift to be able to completely clean the mower deck after the season and possibly change out the blade. As you can probably realize, I am completely satisfied with my purchase of the TB30R Hydro riding mower. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. Highly recommended!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hydro Clutch Makes It I bought this mower about 1 month ago and have used it 4 times to mow. One word: AWESOME! It runs smoothly and leaves my lawn looking better than it ever has. The hydrostatic clutch is a must. I went backhand forth on whether to spend the extra money. It was well worth it and makes mowing that much easier and quicker. The mower is solid and is just what I needed. It's big enough to cut my mowing time down, yet small enough to get into tight spots. I highly recommend this lawnmower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hydrostat is the way to go! In general, the machine is ideal for my 1/2 acre yard. I have several trees to work around as well as two structures. The hydrostatic drive, due to the variable speed, allows me to mow close and in complete control. The ability to mow in reverse is a bonus. I still have to pre cut some of the edges with my push mower but that was expected. The machine feels tight and well designed and even though it has no suspension the ride is fine with the tire pressure set at specification. This newest version (2018) marketed by Northern Tool (model# 13A721JD066) is equipped with a 382cc engine with full pressure lubrication and a replaceable, spin on, oil filter. Also the engine has a balance shaft and a steel cylinder bore for long life. These features are important to me as a semi retired auto mechanic.....this is a very, automotive design. I will be adding the bagging kit this fall for picking up the tons of leaves I deal with.....currently it is being operated as a mulcher and it really does a nice job of cutting and re-cutting the grass blades.....so much so, they are hard to find. In summation, it is exceeding my expectations, especially for a single blade deck. For whatever it is worth, it kind of makes mowing fun. Thanks for asking my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hydrostatic drive Bought this about 2 months ago and absolutely love this little mower! The hydrostatic drive is my favorite feature! The not having to shift constantly is worth its weight in gold. It mows real nice too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rider My TB30 R was delivered yesterday(6-12-18). It was already assembled so I didn't have to do much of anything except check the oil and fill it with gas. I already have a Troy-Bilt walk behind self propelled mower and really like it. But, I'm not getting any younger(72 now) so a new rider was in my plans. I gave my old, late 80's, Murray rider to my son who has some health problems and walking is a bummer for him. I like the Troy-Bilt products and ordered this mower from Lowe's online site. My grass was almost a foot high when this mower arrived. I've been letting it grow to give the rider a good first trial. It performed beautifully!! Seeing as this was my first ride on it I'm still going to have to get used to the Hydro Tranny. I've never had one before. I filled it with gas then read the manual on how to start it. Once I figured out the interlocks it popped right off. I also like the reverse mowing feature that doesn't kill the blade or mower when backing up with the blade spinning. I don't have any kids or pets to worry about so that's not a problem. It turns a lot sharper than my old rider too which is a plus. My yard is about 1/2 acre by my best guesstimation. All in all I really like this mower and would recommend it to friends and family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great small mower. It is an excellent compliment t It is an excellent compliment to my husband bigger mower and I can get into areas that he cannot get into. The hydrostatic transmission is a blessing and make mowing much more pleasurable.
