Rated 1 out of 5 by from junk I have never owned a more useless piece of junk. I would sell it and buy another brand but I wouldn't want to be that despicable to another man or human being. I feel sorry for the garbage man or Junkman who has to move thins thing from my curb. total waste of initial money, then a bigger money pit after purchace

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good Luck with the 2 warranty if it breaks. Good luck finding a Troy-Bilt Authorized Service Center if it breaks down. I was turned away by all of my local authorized service centers because I did not buy it from them. The 2 year Warranty is totally useless when everyone refuses to look at it because you bought it at Lowes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Starts but don't run I bought my 2860 three days ago, when I finally got tired of repairing/servicing the 26" T-B I've had since 2011 (used it about 40 hours over that time, had it in the shop 3 times, changed oil at least once a season because of gas in the oil sump - caused by, I am told, a faulty gas cut-off solenoid which my repair shop couldn't seem to fix or replace for whatever reason). Long story short, my new machine fired right up - but would not move. Transmission would not engage in any gear, forward or reverse. It sat overnight until I could call Lowes, which is where I bought it. When I pulled it out of the shed the next day for pickup by Lowes' delivery, there was a puddle of gas on my shed floor (suggesting that the cutoff solenoid in this machine was also malfunctioning). My old one worked fine - when it worked. I suspect the new one would have done the same but I don't have the patience or the hauling capability to keep running a machine to the repair shop. Consequently, I have to give this machine a failing grade (it gets one star rather than a flat zero because it did start on the 3rd pull).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. I bought this a year ago and it never snowed deep enough to use it until last night. We had a 5 inch wet snow and it easily handled it. I have a sloped driveway and it easily climbed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Investment I purchased this from Lowes in November in preparation for the upcoming winter. My wife and I used to shovel our driveway and that of our neighbor's. As we are in our 70s now, we decided shoveling was no longer an option. Upon returning from a Christmas vacation, I was greeted with 8" of new snow. I was chomping at the bit to try out my new snow blower. What a back saver this unit is! Works as advertised. Great features. User friendly. I ended up doing five driveways in about 90 minutes. I really liked the hand warmers and the fact that the drive is linked to the auger which enables you to adjust the chute while turning and continuing to clear snow. Would purchase this again in a heartbeat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expecting more ? Consumer Reports is right, the smaller machine is much better to handle for less money. This 2860 will give you a workout. CR gave it above average in handling, I beg to differ the airless tires has minimal traction, they slip going up an incline and wont dig in to plowed snow. Now I have to see if I can get chains. The electric grips are not a plus. The shifting is also hard On the plus side the machine is well made and runs excellent. I am 90 years old and I bought this so my wife can operate it , fortunately I wont be around when she starts complaining. My old machine I bought in 1970, still runs but now I don't dare use it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died after 30 seconds. Do not buy and do not buy f I bought this rather expensive snowblower from Lowe’s on October 6 but did not add oil and gas until December 2 because I didn’t want it sitting filled with gas until I needed it. Before starting I added Troy Bilt oil and regular gasoline. Pulled the starter and it started rough. It ran for 30 seconds, seized, and died. The pull start is frozen and the electric start made a moaning sound. I contacted Lowe’s and for a fee, they will pick it up and repair it. Or, I can buy a brand new one and eat the $900 I spent on this machine. Lowe’s was of no help. I am hoping that Troy Bilt will replace this clearly defective snowblower, which has never been used and ran for 30 seconds before it died.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features! The equipment handles deep snow with ease and the heated grips come in handy when it is windy and snow is blowing back at you. When moving and able to change chute direction without stopping is a great feature that helps get the job done quicker.
