Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product for the cost I purchased this product to replace one approximately 10 years old. It works well and does move a large amount of snow for its size. I live in Northeastern Pa. and you know we had some large snowfalls this winter of 2013-2014. There are only two faults that I find with the machine: 1. The thrower pushes snow back under the scraper. I thought that the scraper may have been misaligned. I sat it on a sheet of plywood to check and it was in perfect alignment. 2. Snow builds up on the tires and when it does the wheels will not rotate so you must stop and remove the snow before continuing. This happens quit frequently. Other than these two items I think the machine performs very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Time Owner/User Purchased this the day before large snow fall was predicted in VA. Never owned a blower before, my wife prompted me to purchase she said I did not need to be shoveling. After the first use in a 21 inch snow I was more than satisfied with the performace of the Squall 2100. Started up with ease, performance in snow was awesome for such a light weight, easy to store machiine. I have a 4 car driveway, sidewalks and patio which I cleaned twice during the storm, only took an hour each time. Easy to use, highly recommended, strong engine, I expect many years service out of this blower

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product for the price. Next door neighbor gave me the thrower in exchange for doing his driveway. We have had 4 good size snow falls so far and I have done 5 driveways and sidewalks each time. I only had to fill it once in those 4 snowfalls. This machine did everything I asked of it. It is easy to use, starts every time electric or pull start. I even let my sons use it to try and make some jobs on the side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Purchase Yet Very happy with snow blower this past winter. Had no troubles with all the snow we had here in the Northeast. No troubles with drifted snow either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. It may appear to strange that I gave a 5 star rating with the title I used. The point I'm making is that the 2100 is the bottom of Troy's line of snow throwers with a very good price when compared to other brands. One should not expect it to perform like a 2 stage unit. I purchased it in 2007 for the moderate Virginia snows. In 2008 we moved to Ohio and it is now in its second winter here. It will clog with wet snow. Tilt the front up a few inches and let it drop and it should clear. (I hope I do not have to say that you do this by pushing down on the rear handle.) The use a little WD40 or silicone spray in the shoot before each job goes a long way to alleviate the clogging. The unit is not self propelled. Even though the tines can pull it through an inch or two of light snow, human power is needed. I just put my weight behind it and it goes. The rubber tines have held up well on my cement driveway and sidewalks. We live on a corner half acre lot so we have a good amount of sidewalk. I've used pull start a few times with no problem, starts on the first pull when hot, and the electric start has been flawless. The bottom line for me is that it works for what it is. You have to keep ahead of the snow and can't wait until you have 8 or 10+ inches before you go out. With a light/dry snow it throws the snow more than half the width of a 3 car driveway. With a wet snow no. Otherwise pay more to get more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost 12 years old...and still doing a great job! Bought my 21" Troy-Built Squall in October 2002, after finally having a paved driveway...living in SW Pennsylvania brings 40-50 inches of snow in an average year...usually 4-6" (sometimes 6-10") at a time, but my Squall does a great job every time...have had several 6" snowfalls this year (2013-2014) and the Troy-Built handles my 20'x50' driveway in less than 30 minutes. The electric start is an added plus. Have never had any trouble with this machine...not even one repair...still has the original drive belt...highly recommend this Troy-Built machine!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Left wheel won't turn when it gets snow on it Had this for last winter and now this winter. The one BIG problem I have with this is that the left wheel jams when it gets snow on it. This happens because there is barely any room for the wheel to turn. So when there is snow built up on the wheel (which happens constantly, because the wheel picks up the snow) the wheel jams and won't turn. Causing the machine to constantly pull to the left. It is a huge pain and I don't see how this could have possibly passed any REAL testing before it was sold to consumers. My warranty was out last year when I bought it because I bought it during the summer. Otherwise, I would have taken it back. Now I'm stuck having to deal with it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Valu I have had the opportunity to use my new blower 3 times now and it is so easy to start I have not had to use the electric start yet and one morning there was a minus 28 degree wind chill! After getting used to running it, I actually enjoyed doing the drive and sidewalks. I highly recommend the 21 inch electric start model to anyone who is contemplating buying a new snow blower.
