Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very durable, easy to use. I have an older version of the Pony ES Tiller that I purchased six or seven years ago. It has been a real workhorse. All I have had to do is change the oil, a belt and the throttle cable. It does everything I need it to do including making up rows with a plow attachment. It still cranks on the first pull every time and does not use a drop of oil. I do have to add gear oil to the gear box every season but that has been standard maintenance on every tiller I have owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tiller ever I bought another Pony last fall because the one I bought in 1990 kind of found it's way to my son's house and he refused to let me "borrow" my 28 year old tiller. Ergo, I just bought a new one. The only thing we have ever had to do with my old one was to put new gaskets in the drive train. With regular maintenance, it has been a great machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is what other tillers try to be!! I own both a Pony ES and a Horse tiller, and both of them are over twenty-five years old. I have used them in everything from previously worked soil to hard packed clay and gravel. They have never let me down or disappointed me or anyone who has watched me working with them. I would tell anyone I know this is the best tiller on the market, hands down!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pony Tiller I currently am using the 2nd Pony tiller I have ever owned, and I can't begin to estimate the age ~ @ least 15 yrs. I have never had a problem w/it, and would never own a brand other than Troy-Bilt. I love the electric-start b/c, @ my age (a-HEM!!) I am able to start it myself, any time that I choose, w/o ensuring that my husband is present and available. We recently purchased a Troy-bilt edger and leaf blower b/c we were so impressed w/the quality of the tiller, and I have to say that I am sold on Troy-Bilt, and promote your company every chance I get. Tx for all you do to make gardening easier!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORKHORSE I got my Pony over 20 years ago. We have been through a lot together - busy years of active gardening, and years when I never got the chance to use it. But through it all, it has continued to step up when called on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little worker I'm 75yo so can't remember when I bought the tiller, at least 10-12 years ago (CRS). Started garden on unbroken sod..Beginners..set your depth just deep enough to scratch the surface then lower 2 notches at a time, that way the tiller won't run away from you and soon enough you'll be down to at least 8" depth. Now my garden is so easy I just have to watch out that the tiller does not bury itself. Hardest part of tilling is turning around at end of row. Friend had a "box store unit" and hated it, used mine and could not believe the difference. I keep it clean and serviced and it sits there waiting for me and starts up right away. Can't say enough good things about it. It may be called a "Pony" but for me it has been a real workhorse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Electric start 250cc rear tine tiller Was not too hard to handle after I figured out what I had to do differently compared to the larger rented tillers I used in the past. Location of Engage/Disengage lever is not handy. Some sort of extended handle that ends up somewhere in the driving handle area would be very helpful. Also, the informational sticker for the Engage/Disengage lever is backwards from operation. I haven't looked closely enough to figure out if the decal was installed upside down, or if it's just wrong. Easy enough to pull start that I didn't use the electric start. Comes with a nice, heavy-duty 120VAC 6 foot extension cord for starting. Shipping container arrived badly damaged, the straps were the only thing keeping the machine inside the box. Bottom wood supports were broken and the top of the box was not (or no longer) secured to the main box. Amazingly, the tiller was not damaged by it's rough transport.
