Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Quit running after only 3 weeks of limited use. Wouldn't start again. Gas mixture correct. Emptied tank and added Sea Foam cleanout. Left overnight. Still wouldn't work. Repeated twice more. Replaced carburetor. Started right up. Ran fine for 10 minutes. Shut off. Wouldn't start the next day. I'll never but another Troy Build product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not buy again I bought this trimmer last year due to other trimmer I had quit. I used this one last summer and fall and emptied the gas out completely before winter storage. I put fuel in it yesterday and it wouldn't start. I tried for 2 hours. I give up looks like ill start buying another brand again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk This trimmer started easily out of the box and with the first use I was impressed. . . That's where it ended. The first summer I had it, it would get harder to start every time and stall in the middle of use very frequently and wouldn't restart for hours. Now after being stored properly for the winter it will barely start after 30 minutes of fighting with it and won't stay running especially if you try to give it throttle. I have cleaned the air filter, replaced the spark plug, tore the carburetor apart and cleaned it. Nothing will fix it and it's not worth paying a professional to look at it since it was cheap to begin with.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Performance The TB22 EC is extremely hard to start, even after you follow the directions on the label fixed to the motor. Once it does start I have to keep the choke set at the 2nd position in order to get any speed out of the engine. If I move the choke to the off/open position, the motor stumbles and stalls. The trimmer could also be 6 inches longer. Using it, I have to bend over and after several minutes, it is hard on the back,

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TB22 EC I've gone through 3 of these units in the past 24 months. They seem to work well at first, then after a few months, they start to develop issues with running, the bump head breaks easily and then they just won't start. I really think this unit needs to go back to RD for design evaluation. I will most certainly buy a different brand this time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won't start I purchased my trimmer last year but did not use it till this year! After using it a couple of times it now is impossible to keep running! After reading other reviews it seems I am not alone. I have yet to replace the trimming line. I have cleaned the carb and the gas and air lines put in fresh fuel and still won't start and continue to run! I believe this is a very poor and defective product! (On the positive side I own a troybilt lawn tractor and push mower with no problems)
