Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was expecting more I bought this mower to replace my 10 year old mower. Out of the box it is easy to set up. I've had the Troybilt for a month and have used it 7 or 8 times. Compared to the old mower, the Troybilt is lighter and much quieter when running. On two occasions while mowing I've had the engine almost die, I stopped mowing for 30-40 seconds and let the engine work through the issue then everything is fine. When cutting taller grass, maybe 4-5" tall, it seems to be under powered and has almost killed the mower numerous times. To remedy this I have to take narrower swaths, increasing mowing time. The troybilt doesn't seem to have the suction power that my old one had, it doesn't want to pick up leaves that are deep down in the grass. Bottom line, it's not a bad mower so far, maybe just under powered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fail to mention auto / fixed throttle! Started good out of the box - but extremely under powered! Lots of mention in adverts and on-line specs of Automatic Choke, but no mention at all about fixed or auto throttle. Had no idea what I was buying. I feel this was deceiving. Home Depot's shelf had 5 of these returned in messed up boxes. I bought the only brand new one and am not satisfied. Spent a lot of time getting model and serial numbers off the mower, but the manuals do not provide enough detail to determine fixed or auto throttle! Also the manuals / docs supplied are not grade A, having too many mower versions in the same Doc. Too many instruction pictures have non relevant gear mixed in. Detail is incredibly poor. Many companies provide shabby documentation, but if no one complains then nothing will change. It is possibly illegal to provide documentation that does not allow identification of the product. But that seems to be what I have. Mower has an auto throttle lever, but have seen no auto throttle action while mowing. Have found a label with Model #: 11A-B2AQ723. Note I am using California Unleaded gasoline which probably has some Ethanol mixed in. The manufacture is not informing the buyer sufficiently. Mention is made of fuel additives, but nothing is recommended in the supplied documentation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of power! Great mower so far. Like that it has a real air filter instead of the messy foam with oil. Smooth, easy pull to start, one pull and it's running! Good on gas and it's well worth the few extra bucks for the 160cc, thick grass doesn't bog it down at all. It's used on a farm with lots of uneven ground and it does great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I keep my gas operated equipment filled with pure gasoline which though hard to find is worth the effort. I bought this mower because of the Honda motor. So far it's cranked on the first pull every time. Very light and easy to push, plenty of power. My first impressions are good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won’t start when engine is warm I have a brand new TB160 lawn mower. It starts up nicely when the engine is cold but will not restart after the engine is warm/hot. The machine has less than an hour on it. This is very frustrating. I tried using the online Chat but it was of no use. Please contact me via email so we can talk about how to address/ resolve this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ethanol I am quite disappointed in the mechanics of this produt. Used three times, with standard gas and a Starbrite additive, since non-ethanol gas is not easily available near. Gas run out after use. Sat for less then 3 weeks, and the carb seems to be gummed up. Come on guys, ethanol has been around for more then 10 years. I opted for the higher end product, rather then the cheap $150 special, so it would last. I would hope you could build a quality machine that could handle todays fuels. Especially when operated with an additive and ran to your owner's manuel's guidelines. I am not reccomending this machine, unless one can use non-ethanol gas, everytime. Even then, I am not sure what other corners have been cut in the design?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy To Use, Reliable. I have had the mower for four years, very satisfied. Honda engine very reliable, plenty of power for most grass cutting and leaf mulching in fall. Maintenance is a snap. In four years have only changed oil twice during each season.
