11 Years and going great!
Had mine for 12 years now and it's going great. I use it a bunch on some rough areas. Have had to change the steering link (Don't run into trees and you won't have this problem!) but nothing else but yearly oil, sparkplug, and air filter changes. The tires are even going great with the original air. I hope I can get another if this one ever dies.

will not start!!
Have had it for just over a year and it has quit on me for the second time. This time it will not do anything. If I go from battery to starter it will turn over.Somewhere in electrical not sure where. My major problem is I cant get Troy bilt on the phone to help fix this problem. THEY dont seem to want to stand behind their product. My advice buy anything else. My mower looks as good as the day I bought it BUT IT WILL NOT RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Need it to cut grass not yard art.Troy-bilt fix my mower that is still under warranty and ill change this if its right. Thats my word as A Marine.

Not good on multiple levels
To start the mower sits crooked brand new, wheels are off camber, materials are thin and flimsy, transmission is clunky, and after 2 months have had a failure already. Originally purchased at Home Depot for $999. Still seemed like a bit much for what you get. At $1400, no way. The John Deer and Cub Cadet are superior mowers for a similar price.

Best buy in Lawn Tractor world
Mine is a 2012 model, still runs like the day I got it. Did a few to make it greater, added a high back seat, a front bumper, and painted the grill silver, old fashioned guy, like a silver grill . The mower has worked great, mow 1.5 acres here in N.Florida, season is March through October. 17.5 HP B& S is a bit noisy, but the drive system works great. Replaced belts twice, not bad as they are easy to get at. LOVE my Troy Bilt , wouldn't trade it for any other. Price was right, quality is great, performance super. .

A solid American value!
I've owned this model for three summers (summer, 2020 is my 4th season with it). It's a good, dependable, mower and it's priced much lower than 'comparable' makes/models.

Mostly good, but with a few pain points
I bought mine late in the summer of 2017, and everything worked great for the remainder of that summer and all of the next, but last year, it became increasingly difficult to get it to go into the forward gear position. The lever moves freely where it attaches to the transaxle, but the long shaft of the hand lever flexes excessively, and the opening in the body panel simply isn't large enough to move the lever so that it engages the forward gear. It's as if they designed this specific part to only be operated as gingerly as possible, all the while knowing it would be in an environment where it would be manhandled. When it first started happening, I simply cut the opening in the fender to allow greater range of movement for the lever. Now, even that modification is proving to lose effectiveness, so I have two choices: 1. replace the lever, and see the same thing happen again in a year or two, or 2. reinforce the existing lever to reduce the flex, allowing it to reliably engage the forward gear. All of this could have been avoided if the manufacturer had simply spent a few cents more on the part, so that it stands up to years of normal use.

Cuts grass
Needed a riding mower. Bought this one. Got it home to find the steering wheel was clocked 120 degrees left, the deck is louder than the one i'm replacing, Which the blade was hitting the side of the deck.
