Rated 1 out of 5 by from Carburetor Every year the carburetor needs to be replaced no matter how it's stored. IE: I've run the mower out of gas with additive that didn't work, Etc... Replacement of carburetor is almost as much as the mower itself. I have other Troybilt products and love them but this one is terrible and I wish I never purchased it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This mower is a godsend for me I am a 71 yr old male with severe back problems and knee arthritis. I wanted to continue exercising and doing household chores, but my condition is painful and has stopped me from doing many of the things I want to do. One of them is mowing my lawns. I have four lawn segments totaling about an acre of grass, with some significant hills and trees on the grass to maneuver around. I needed a self-propelled mower that could dig in, cut the grass well, pull me up the hills and allow me to walk behind it without killing my knees or back. I also needed it to turn easily. The TB360 XP has more than fit the bill. It has a powerful motor, has four speeds and big wheels on the rear to really bite into the ground. It pulls me effortlessly up my lawn hills, turns on a dime due to its front caster wheels, cuts the grass nicely, starts with one pull of the cord, and allows me to continue getting some exercise, without too much effort. Even my 72 yr old wife can use it. Its four speeds allow me to change the speed of walking, which I need to do when my back gets tired. I've owned it for a year and it works flawlessly. I love Troy-bilt for making it, and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who wants cutting their lawn to be as effortless as possible. It is worth every penny.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks good in the store! I bought this mower yesterday (6/6/19), at 5:54 p.m., according to my receipt. An hour later, it was back in the store, with a near-broken off mulch plug. I was using the mower on a job, when I grazed a free-standing limestone retaining wall, and just about ripped the mulch plug off its hinge, to the point where the mower was unusable. During a talk with a customer service representative, I was told that I should go in a different direction. I advised her that the mulch plug was badly designed, and it actually invited instances like this. I also informed her that going one direction actually limits the range of use in the yard. The mulch plug sits behind the right front wheel, at a distance of about 6". The tab at the bottom sticks out about an inch at the longest point, and has a thick lip coming down from the top and around the front of the plug. On other TB mowers, this design is not a problem, since the mulch plug is reasonably protected by the right front wheel. The TB 360 XP offers no such protection, and actually invites the plug to be snagged. The tab is at the perfect angle to get snagged in a chain link fence, too! WHY would anyone want to put a device that INVITES getting snagged, on a mower costing several hundred dollars? It makes no sense. To the customer service rep that I talked with: I could spend all day in a yard, changing directions to avoid snagging the mulch plug. My productivity would certainly decrease, as I weave through yards making sure I avoid obstacles that I shouldn't have to avoid in the first place. It would be much easier for the parts guys to re-design the mulch plug, and furnish it as a free replacement to all current owners of this model of mower. With the mulch plug broken, the mower is useless, as the mulch plug won't even hold the side discharge chute in place. My customers don't like clippings. If the plug were re-designed, I would recommend this mower. Until then, my recommendation is as below. I cannot objectively rate reliability, as I only worked with it for a half hour. Construction and value, in my opinion, go hand in hand. The poorly designed mulch plug decreases the value of the mower. It's a shame that a "two dollar part" trashes a machine costing several hundred dollars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed We bought this mower recently through Northern Tools to replace our similar 11-year old Sears Craftsman mower that just stopped working. Got this Troy-Bilt mower in only 3 days! Great! But, we've been disappointed in the two uses so far compared to our old Craftsman. It cuts great on level ground, but it's having trouble going up slight slopes. It also has a tendency to slide sideways going across slight slopes. We've made adjustments for the transmission speed, but it still spins in place. We have to apply downward pressure to make it go--never a problem with our Craftsman. We are going to add weights on the rear to hopefully alleviate this problem. Plastic wheels instead of rubber--shameful!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Control I received this mower on 5/7/20. T-bolts for handle would only tighten to within 1/2 inch of handle-had to add washers to fill gap. Locking pin on left front caster wheel catches on top of wheel fork in unlock position, preventing wheel from turning. During second use the rear discharge door came off. Engine manual received with unit is not for engine on this mower. This is a heavy mower therefore caster wheel will leave marks in sandy lawns. Mower has plenty of power even for hills. Like the transmission which is the reason I bought this mower.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Three negatives and three positives I would not recommend this mower for three big reasons the rear wheels lock up over 90% of the time and will not roll backwards so you have to drag it backwards. The second thing I do not like about this mower is the front caster wheels if they swivel past the halfway point they too lock up and will not swivel back. The third thing is its front heavy not balanced well if you need to push down on the handle bars to raise the front which I needed to do often to get the front wheels to swivel around it's difficult. The three things I can say positive is the engine is powerful and quiet and starts easy. If I had bought it at Lowe's or Home Depot I would return it, I no longer have the box so I do not know how I would return the mower to Troy-Bilt. Sorry for the bad review but that is my experience with this mower.
