Rated 2 out of 5 by from TB516 EC Gas Lawn Edger It is hard to start and won't run well at all. If I get it to idle it dies when I give it throttle. I have to baby it the whole time I'm using it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 9 Months in and it won't start - Buyers beware I'm a very mechanical person and I understand that some small engines don't like todays gas but this edger has stopped working 9 months later. I have used it less than 10 times. The carb is junk and needs replaced/rebuilt. I hoped to get more. 2 year warranty..........except the carb. Guess what breaks?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good Got less than a yr. out of it. It starts and idles but dies when pressing throttle. Should have checked reviews before buying. Very disappointed. After reading reviews I see this problem is common. Wouldn't recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blue Exhaust Smoke I purchased the TB516 yesterday and used it for the first time today. Assembly was easy. Added the 3.04 oz bottle of SAE 30 oil to the crank case as directed. Put 'STA-BIL' in my 2-1/2 gal. gas can as recommended. (I suggest putting the edger on a table when filling the gas tank as the edger's gas filler tube is so low, it's like poring gas on the floor.) My edger started right away and proved to be easy to operate and control, but lackes the ability to get into horizontal places as one can with a string edger/trimmer. The concern I have is that I noticed Blue Exhaust Smoke right away, and hope it's the 'STA-BIL' in the gasoline, and not blown piston rings in a brand new engine. That would be a bumer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lawn edger vs lawn trimmer I am very satisfied with this lawn edger. I have tried to use a trimmer to do the edging and could not get the results that come close to a real edger. Nothing looks better than a well trimmed lawn.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Once it's going, it works fine. Once you get it rolling, the machine works the way it should. But the trick comes to getting it started. Why? I don't know. I follow the directions, yet every time I try to use it, it's like pulling teeth to get it started! I've tried: - Using common sense to start lawn and garden equipment. When that failed: - I tried following the directions to the letter. When that failed I tried mixing it up: lots of choke and no pumps (since there was fuel in the bubble anyway,) no choke and extra pumps, kicking it with a steel toe boot, swearing at it in several languages (English, Greek, Spanish, 'Stralian, Canadian (Sorry, eh.) ) Talked to the guy at Lowes, he recommended buying the jump starter (because buying the machine that doesn't work wasn't giving up enough cash, I should give up some more so I can actually *use* the machine. Come on, really?) Anyway, I've had it for three years, was able to get it running a couple times last year, but so far no luck this season (2018.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works good once started A bit hard to start. Using starter battery and it works great. Cannot believe there is no oil dipstick. You must either lie flat on your belly on the ground and check if the oil level is even with the bottom of the treads using a flashlight. Either that or pick it up and put it on a table to check the oil. A transparent threaded oil fill hole would let you see the oil level at a glance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Product by Troy-Bilt Figured it would be ok, as the lawnmower I bought works well. This thing is not worth considering, as it will not start until you wear several major league baseball pitchers arms out yanking on a less than 6" pull. Wish I could get my money back so I can buy a better edger. This one I have will make it's way to the city dump.
