Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Lawn Mower I've Ever Owned I have 1/2 acre of lawn that needs to be mowed once a week. It's normally a 2 hour job. With this mower I've reduced the time by 30 minutes. The bag is large so I don't have to empty it as often and the two blade cutting system keeps the power high enough so I can cut any high of lawn. The larger grass discharge also keeps the unit from plugging up with taller grass. I'm delighted with the performance, the adjustable drive, and the quick starts. It's a great mower and I'm sold on Troy-Bilt products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should Have Bought Sooner! Very well built, runs and cuts great. Very easy to set up out of the box. Self-propelled system works great, very easy to get use to. Have not “popped” any wheelies with it, I don’t know how that would be even possible. Been using 21 inch mowers for the last 30 years. If you can operate one of those in a proper manner you can operate this! In my current yard the Troy Bilt WC28 cut my yard cutting time by at least 1/3. Cuts tall thick fescue with no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING MOWER!! I purchased this earlier this year and love it! It starts perfectly and very quickly-I was used to my electric start but realized it is just as easy. It uses different blades to bag the grass than to mulch it (which can get a bit much if you have a yard like mine and I like to bag the front and mulch the back). It cuts terrific and even. Only issue I have now is that the tube the grass goes in to get to the bag broke the deck stud it was supposed to attach to. Not sure what to do since the deck pin is soldered on. I will have to contact someone from Troy Built to help me out on this. I love all the options I have and it is well worth the money spent!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Powerful engine/ easy to start I have had this mower since spring. I have been waiting to review so i good real relay how this mower worked. After months of use. I will say this mower cuts great. However if you are looking for a mower that bags well this is not the mower for you. If the grass is wet bagging is almost imposible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saves a lot of time I came from a twenty year old, 21" mower, so moving to a 28" deck was amazing to use on my 3rd of an acre. First, the good - the wide tires and awesome power let me mow the hill on the side of my house like it's not even there (it's nearly a 30 degree incline). The wide tires also really help with a swampy area in my yard, I can get right through it now without having to worry about getting stuck. The quality of the cut itself is great, and it's very easy to pull backwards if you need to (some mowers the transmission locks you out until you go forward a bit). The mower starts up every time first pull, and the gas tank is JUST big enough to mow my yard and clean the deck out. For the Bad - the bag and tube leading to it needs a redesign. They both leak grass clippings bad enough that I've added some foam around the edges, but the mower deck is still covered in grass clippings by the time I'm done. Having the grass shoot (and tube) on the side of the mower makes for some interesting choices while mowing - you can get much closer to obstacles on the left side of the mower than the right, so plan accordingly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Power I bought this mower from the factory a few months ago and have used it 3 times so far. Good power, but with hardly no weight on the front, it bounces way to much to get a good cut. I have St. Augustine and the lawn is rough in some spots which makes it hard to handle. The speed control keeps going back and forth with the bumps which makes it also hard to handle. I removed the black steel plate from the back and bought a small cargo net. I found a way to attach it to the front end then added two bricks (so far). It does help to keep the front down much better. The design engineers need to find a way to add weight to the front for better handling. Moving the motor forward while retaining the cutting mechanism would help a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Test drive Chose TB WC28 because it had the largest engine with the widest cut that still had a push mower handle controls. I was not disappointed. Well balanced and very light to handle. The grass cutting was even and the grass catcher worked well. I managed to get the chute clogged once by shortening the cut all the way and hitting thick grass.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from bought and broke in 3 months I bought the mower because of the rave reviews in Consumer Reports. It works like a charm, but the bottom spring broke and the machine stopped because it got stuck in the pulley. Now the mower is in the shop and I have been without for two weeks. I wanted to write a note to Troy-bilt but there is no email address to write to on the website, so this is the best I can do. I hope someone at TB reads this and gets in touch.
