Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked well just didn't last long enough I purchased this product in March 2016, and it died August 2018, over the 2 year limited warranty time. I expected the product to last longer because of the name, but I am somewhat disappointed. Other than that, it worked well while it lasted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lives up to the Troybilt reputation I have been using Troybilt equipment since the mid-1970's. It started with a roto-tiller in 1975. Then in 2002 I got a 10HP chipper. Now, at the age of 78 I got the Brushcutterhacker, along with the battery powered Jump Starter. I have never been disappointed with any Troybilt product, and our grounds look better than ever, and they are all operating perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy and a little unbalanced I bought this almost a year ago and have used it to cut brush at the bottom edge of our mountain property as well as trimming around the trees we planted. I had trouble getting the brush cutter off as it opens in the opposite direction and I kept tightening it till I had to take it to the shop to get it open. Now it works easy - funny that! Starting was an issue till I carefully followed procedure and then it is pretty easy. I do find it heavy and unbalanced - I hold it from the opposite side as my left hand is weak from the ac joint. Vibration is not terrible but the plastic front guard with throttle positions and instructions has already fallen off. Overall it works great and gets the job done.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works OK if you can get it started I have used this brush cutter a couple of times and it works fine for up to about 3/4" trees. My only complaint is that I cannot start it manually. I have followed the instructions precisely several times with no success. I ordered the drill adaptor and finally got it running. Once running it will restart manually, usually. I think the adaptor should be packaged with the brush cutter. We'll see how it holds up and performs by the end of the summer. Jim

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy starting and cutter With the new electric start motor this product is a must for elderly as you do not have to ever pull the cord and you can carry the starting tool with you anywhere. Brush cutting is a breeze when you experience the correct method makes for more time to other task. They should have starters like this on all lawn and brush power tools everywhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware No Way To Change Brush Head Having just bought the TB42BC and excited to start using it, I followed the directions closely to remove the brush cutting device to put on the string trimmer but found there's no way to loosen the nut as it appears to be torqued way to tightly from the factory. I called the customer service department which was no help but referred me to a service center to take the unit in. Online reviews found that at least one other recent buyer had the same problem. I noted the instructions generally were a bit confusing and could use some improvement to save customers time in trying to assemble and operate the unit.
