Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the best choice Bought this trimmer last summer. My fuel line was spitting out fluid and I thought maybe it was a rare defect but upon reading other reviews it seems to be a common manufacturing issue. Had to buy the the drill bit attachment to start the thing after hand pulling became impossible (not too big an issue since it was fairly inexpensive). But if they knew it was going to cause people headaches then why not simply include it. Lastly, trimmer line replacement is an extreme headache.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Whilst the engine and design are good, the string head is a huge disappointment. The string last for minutes and no matter how it is used...it is not fit for purpose. Is there a way to remove the string head and replace it with a blade please, then it would be a great tool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good product Ive had this thing for barely two years and now it barely runs. It worked well for maybe a tear but Its always taken way to many pulls to get started and now it takes 10 to 15 minutes of running through the start up to get it to actually start. Once it does it doesnt run properly what so ever, the obly i get any power is if i leave the choke on the entire time. It constantly bogs down and never get up to adequate cutting power. Im going to check the warrenty and hopefully can get my money back or at least a replacement. I dont recommend this machine

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very dependable I have owned 2 of these and neither have lasted more than 6 months. The mechanics for Lowe’s say the carburetor has gone bad on both and it would be cheaper to purchase a new one. The only reason I bought a second one is because I have the attachments. Bought it in August 2018 and it quit today. I would not recommend this trimmer to anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst thing I have EVER bought!! I bought this on fall close out last year and have never had so many problems with anything I have ever bought before. Nothing is good about this. The handle is in the wrong place and not balanced, so you fightt gravity all the time you are trying to use it, and the straight shaft prevents you from cutting at a flat angle. Now on to the problems! The wrongly placed handle will not tighten enough on the shaft, so the weight of the engine means the shaft slips inside the handle and the cutting head is no longer pointing down. I was stupid enough to remove the “bump head” and try the aero head, which is utterly useless. When I tried to put the original head back on with the two nylon string “blades” the bump head would not reattach to the shaft tightly, and the knob that is part of the bump head constantly falls off. The only way I could get the head to attach was to leave the fallen off knob on the ground and tighten the bolt onto the “inner reel”. This allowed it to be attached, but when I tried to trim some grass with it, the nylon was so soft it collapsed and wouldn’t cut a thing. Honestly, I am going to throw this piece of trash away, and sacrifice the money I spent buying this and find a trimmer that works. What an utterly useless product!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor construction I bought this trimmer from Lowe’s. I used it for three tanks of gas.it was very hard starting from the start. The fourth tank of gas the trimmer slowed to a stop. The nearest repair shop is 20 miles from my home. I took a look at the engine and found one of the 2 cylinder bolts without a top. Broken off, the other had cracked the screw hole. So now junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing product I bought this trimmer 9/18/17 and it broke in 9 months. Purchased again 7/12/18 and it broke in 5 months. Closest warranty repair is over 20 miles away. Will never purchase troy bilt again.
