Rated 2 out of 5 by from Margional Machine I bought the TB30 for several reasons. Cost, size and manuevering ability. From the first delivery it has had problems. First the battery cables were loose and no start. Maybe a dealer problem or poor prep for delivery. Second the starting procedure is vague in the manual. Required several calls to the dealer who was only fair in response. Third, will not mow in reverse, in fact it shuts off when you shift to reverse and the blade is running. Know what a PIA this is for getting out of close spots?? Fourth, the grass shoots out the left side of the deck with the mulch cover installed. To me this indicates the blade is almost going CCW instead of CW to discharge from the shoot side. This results in uneven cutting. The deck is level. These issues make be rethink the value of the purchase. The pluses are the tight turning radius and the ease of handing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Uneven Cutting Purchased this machine for my wife. Because of bad knees she needed a riding mower, and with bad shoulders she finds it hard to steer a regular riding mower/garden tractor. This mower seem to fit the bill. However, I noticed it doesn't cut evenly. The left side cuts an inch higher than the right. I tried making various adjustments, to no avail. I looked in the Operators Manual, which said to adjust the 'side to side' adjustment. I took the mower deck loose from the frame. There isn't an adjustment on either side. I called Troytbilt's Customer Service and spoke with a 'technician.' After 30 to 45 minutes on the phone they didn't have an answer for me either. So, to get a smooth cut I have to make a pass in one direction, turn around and go back over that same cut in the opposite direction, which kinda negates the purpose of having a 30 inch mower. We are back to a 21 inch walk behind with front wheel drive.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problem with steering mechanism on Tb30R I bought TB30R riding mower about 4 months ago. Unfortunately, the steering mechanism gave out a few days ago. Now it looks like it will be in the shop for at least four weeks before it can be repaired. The middle of summer is not a great time to be without a mower for a month. If your looking for a reliable mower, this might not be the best choice. I'm hoping this review will get the attention of the folks at Troy Bilt and they can assist with expediting the repair. We'll see.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice machine I have now had the opportunity to use it 4 times on my lawn. I believe it is overall a nice product. I do have 2 quirks. The first is really minor but want to mention it. The rubber shift lever handle has come off in my hands twice. I guess it's just a matter of learning not to do that but I don't think it should not come off the shaft that easily. The second quirk is the fact that when I release the break pedal to engage the clutch the mower tends to jerk forward. It seems to me it should be a smoother start which I have not been able to get not matter what gear I start in or even in reverse. I'm hoping that will get better with usage as the clutch gets worn in. I did choose Troybilt becasue I own a 26 inch snowblower which has served me very well for 10 yeears.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super for old guys who aren't able to walk too far I bought mine 2 years ago. I have a small lawn but I am unable to walk far due to COPD but I like to have a nice lawn. I use the mulching constantly and have one of the best lawns in the neighborhood. After years of pull starting mowers, I love that it starts with the quick turn of the key. A great machine for seniors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great for my disabled wife when it starts. I bought mower in May so my wife could help mowing. after about 5 mowings it wouldn't start. Battery was dead. I recharged it mowed about 3 more times and its now not starting with charged battery. Im waiting for a call from local Farm and Fleet for pick up to repair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy Bought this for 1/4 acre lot because of health issues. Perfect for my yard. Had to get used to the clutch and the gear shifter location. No issues. I super glued the shifter knob, no more issues. I googled some researsh and found out there is a white connector behind the shifter panel, if you unplug this connector you can mow in reverse without the button hassle. You can get to the connector from the right side of the mower. (sitting on the seat, right side.)
