Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good mower I bought this at Lowe's a few months ago. The mower has been a good investment so far and has a good cut. The steering wheel has been a nice feature for us because of the similarity to riding mowers and automobiles. Be sure to purchase the hitch attachment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent on hills I had been looking at different zero-turn mowers for about 6 months, to replace my riding tractor mower. I have a pretty steep hill in the back hard and my belt driven tractor was not able to cut the work load. After reading lots of reviews, and not wanting to spend 10k on a 4 wheel drive mower, I decided on this one. Mowed my yard 4 times now with it. The steerable front casters make mowing in the flat front yard, and on the back hill very easy. Cross hill and up/down mowing, all have the power and control I need to get it done. It would have been nice if it had come with a trailer hitch for towing, but I found an after market one and was easily installed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Much Easier! After consulting Consumer Reports, I found that this model had the highest rating within my budget. Unfortunately, everyone else must have seen the same review since I could not find a dealer in my area that carried the model. Even those big box stores said it was out of stock. After contacting Troy-Bilt directly, however, I was able to order straight from the factory at a substantial discount. Although that discount came with the dreaded "Some assembly required," I decided to take the chance. The equipment was scheduled to arrive at the latest in two weeks, but came in three days much to my delight. While the crate resembled the one in the holiday classic "A Christmas Story," instead of a leg lamp, I received an impressive piece of machinery that only required the seat and steering wheel to be attached. Piece of cake, even for a girl like me with few mechanical skills. Now that I have had it for about a month, I have grown to love its clean cut and smooth operation. The steering wheel, rare for a zero-turn, makes it easy to cut and stay hydrated without having to stop the engine for a sip of water. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the steering wheel on my model does not stay fully engaged in one position. I thought it was due to an issue with the bolts attaching it to the steering column, but after several weeks figured out that is part of the operational strategy. To disengage the brake pedal, you must lower the steering column, which took me some time to figure out, since there was nothing -- naturally -- in the directions about the feature. How do I love my Mustang Pivot? Let me count the ways. I love the breadth of the cutting range, which has reduced my labor from four hours to about 90 minute. It is easy to maneuver around tight spots and, given the width, is amazing at negotiating fairly tight areas. The Mustang is not a gas guzzler and I can do about six acres on one tank. Haven't tried mowing in reverse, but it's a nice feature to have access to if you need it. As aforementioned, it has a clean cut and of course, turns on the proverbial dime. Not least, the system for flushing out debris beneath the mower is easy and works well. No more trying to clean out the underside by hand or hose sprayer. All in all, given the price, the Troy-Bilt reputation and the ease of operation, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. And best yet, it comes with a substantial warranty. If something does go wrong, there are also plenty of local companies certified to service that warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad Deck Leveling Left to Right I bought this mower two years ago. I have had to send it to the repair shop every year because I can not keep the deck level left to right. I have sent it to two different shops. The last shop said it had a bent mower deck. I have no Idea how that happened. They put a new deck on and it came back level. After a couple of mowings the deck was low on the Left side AGAIN. It was out of adjustment and could not be raised. At this point I have taken matters into my hands and I have my own solution. This mower runs great and does a good job. It also needs front & rear rollers in the middle of the deck to eliminate scalping. I only mowe 3/4 of a acre once a week. I shouldn't have this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love it! My wife took it for her very own. I no longer have to cut grass. And I don’t have to worry about her safety. This thing takes the rolling hills on our property quite well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features Because of the steering wheel and simple operation, I can talk my wife into mowing the lawn. I have owned it for about 3 years and have never replaced anything but blades. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
