Good concept, poor execution...
I purchased this blower at Lowe's and it worked fine the first couple of times but then the plastic around the fan housing began to crack and break off. Now the entire unit is not operational as the fan rubs on the clear plastic fan housing. It's a shame that such a large company can make products with such poor materials. It's a simple matter of plastic quality and it ruined was was a promising product...

This blower can move dirt and debris while idling. It definitely has the power to clear walkways and driveways.

TB2MB JET Gas Leaf Blower
TROY-BILT TB2MB 2 CYCLE HANDHELD LEAF BLOWER
Blower arrived early and in good shape
Blower was well protected and separate pieces were well protected
⦁ Instructions were well written and easy to understand
(no Chinglish [Chinese-English])
⦁ Blower tubes have very positive locking positions; vibration seems to have no effect of loosening the tubes.
⦁ Started on 4th pull after first filling of gas tank; about average for starting cold
⦁ Choke OFF when throttle control is squeezed
⦁ Was able to blow wet leaves after a snow melt; had to be about 12-16” from leaves; sometimes closer
⦁ Was able to pick up and blow pin oak leaves buried in the grass (10-12”)
⦁ Blower was able to blow dry leaves from 5- 7 or more feet away
⦁ Easy STOP/START
⦁ Started in 40 degree (F) weather
⦁ Exhaust vents into air stream which avoids getting burned
⦁ Air intake is at rear of blower housing lessing the possibility of clothing or other loose object to get sucked into blower
⦁ Light weight
⦁ Attachments on handle for shoulder strap
⦁ Cruise control allows continuous high speed ; easy on thumb action
⦁ Inclusion of safety glasses and earplugs are a great addition to the kit
⦁ It appears to be a quality product; appearance-wise it looks like the product is well made
⦁ Air filter is easily accessible without the use of screwdriver or another tool
⦁ 1 tank of gas lasts about 1 hour at high speed
⦁ In order to assemble the Upper Blower Tube I had to stand the blower body vertically, jam the handle with my foot in order to twist the tube in place; the same had to be done for the Lower Blower Tube. I tried to assemble the tubes with the blower body horizontal but I could not get enough purchase on the tube to turn it. By holding the blower body vertically I could use both hands to twist on the Upper and Lower tube.
⦁ To disassemble the two blower tubes takes some dexterity to manipulate the screwdriver and twist off the tubes; here again I had to stand the blower body vertically to accomplish this.
⦁ The fuel tank rests directly on the ground and when starting on concrete (driveway) it gets scuffed up quite a bit. It would be good if there was a scuff-plate under the gas tank to keep it from getting worn.
⦁ The filler neck on the gas tank could use a 22 ½ degree turn up for easier filling. Of course one only has to turn the entire blower on its side to fill `the tank.
⦁ The handle and Throttle Control puts the spark plug in a small area position.
⦁ The spark plug is not easy to access: I had to use an articulating spark plug wrench to loosen and tighten it.
⦁ Since the sparkplug is hard to access why not include a wrench with the safety glasses and ear plugs?
⦁ Even though the blower is relatively light it does get heavy when blowing a large area; I had to shift hands several times when blowing leaves in my yard.
⦁ A shoulder strap included with the blower would be great or at least listed as an accessory purchase; I used the shoulder strap from another yard tool and it helped greatly in relieving the weight.
⦁ I compared the TB2MB blower velocity with a TroyBilt TB4SC leaf blower and found that the TB2MB was slightly less effective with wet leaves (some still buried under a little snow) than the TB4SC. The difference is slight but the TB4SC was able to pick up and blow the wet leaves at a further distance than the TB2MB by at least a couple of feet. If I were to make a 'first' purchase of the TB2MB I would not hesitate to do so.
⦁ Air filter (foam) really looks flimsy; would like to see a pleated filter especially for dusty conditions or at least a full foam filter to cover the air intake. If the supplied foam filter is not positioned "Exactly" in the correct position a lot of dust can enter the carburetor.

I know the CONS are a longer list than the PROS but I was looking at it from the perspective of the owner doing his/her own maintenance on the blower. I maintain all of my yard power tools and have never taken them to a dealer or repair shop.
This is a well made product that does the job!

Blower assy (part 753-08290)
After 2nd use, the shroud assembly, part 753-08290, broke off.
Bought the unit a year ago, used it once.
This year the assembly broke off at the three attachment screw points.
Should ave gone with the "Orange" manufacturer....
Just ordered two replacement parts (753-08290) so I have a spare

Telling friends and family to steer clear
Have owned two different blowers of the same model, the first one the starter string broke after not even half a mowing season, and the second one the starter string apparently came off of the reel and jammed the starting mechanism so that it couldn't be started by hand or with the electrical hand held starter. Exchanged the first one, returned the second and will be steering clear of Troybilt.

TB2MB Jet Gas Leaf Blower
I have owned other leaf blowers from other manufacturers. This Troy-Built Jet Gas Leaf Blower is by far the best I have owned. The unit is easy to start. Very quiet and powerful. Most of the time I only need idle speed to move leaves. Even damp leaves are moved by this unit.
My only suggestion is that the output tube was a little longer or had a way to deflect the airflow closer to the ground.

Really cool, innovative, and functional blower
This blower is a nice addition to the arsenal of Troy-Bilt products I currently own. It is very obvious Troy-Bilt conducted their homework when designing this device. I'll list a few:
1. Cruise control - your finger never gets tired when using this for extended periods. Why didn't I think of that?
2. Balance - Very well balanced...again, making it easy to use for long periods.
3. Airflow - You won't find many blowers that moves the quantity of air this efficiently as the Jet does. It honestly reminds me of my Dyson vacuum cleaners. And, when it looks that unique, it motivates you to use it more. When you use it more, the neighbors notice and want to try it themselves (yes, a neighbor came over and wanted to see it#.
I used this, so far, in the garage, in the yard, and even dusted a light snow from the driveway. It truly is multipurpose.
If I were to list a con, I would say that the gas cap attachment cable #the thing that keeps you from losing the gas cap) needs to be a bit longer. It can be tricky keeping the gas cap out of the why when refueling. Not a big deal at all.
Overall, this is a blower that packs value and functionality in one space-age looking case that you will not regret owning.
