Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Tiller I have used this tiller twice so far. It is heavy and seems very durable. I wanted a reverse action because my last tiller would get stuck deeply in a corner and make it difficult on my old body to remove it. I already had two hernias in past years. The reverse helps a lot. My only problem is when the tines get rapped up with roots, pine needles, stems etc. it is very hard to remove and untangle them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tiller Got it this morning and put it together, could have used a second pair of hands to get the handle holes lined up but managed without too much trouble, checked the cables as described in the manual and didn't have to adjust anything. Started on the second pull, Works great, tilled up a good portion of my garden kicked out a few good size stones but none got stuck. Never used a tiller with a reverse, but glad I got the tiller with the reverse, makes it alot easier when changing directionafter running into a dead end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tiller! Even better in reverse once adjusted I wrote this review just to correct the reverse issue. I had the same issue when putting it together. First time trying the reverse mode activated to easy jerking the belt. I knew that would throw it off so I let 2 inches of slack between point of activation. This should be added to the installation manual. I used it to start 130 successful tomato plants that made it through 1 major 4 day flood and 1 minor flood. This machine gets deep and works without effort it using the peg on the back. I completed my project of 4000 sqft on virgin earth in about 2 hours. I think I am going to make an arm that attaches to the bolts to hook up the my ridding mower so I can sit my lazy butt down while using this thing. Today I just noticed the handle adjuster which would have been a back saver if I know about it 2 months ago. Also I love where the Adjustable Overhead Valves are located. Nice big carburetor that looks quality is what made me buy it and in person it seems just as reliable as the picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiller very easy to assemble, less than 45 minutes. Added oil and fuel and a couple of pulls and it was up and running. Tilled a 25' x 30' garden spot, and then retiled several times before planting. Removed the two outside tines and went into the garden to clean the grass between rows. Did not think the reverse feature would be very useful, but after being in the garden cleaning grass, found this feature very, very, useful. The tiller is well worth the price paid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great piece of gear This tiller is easy to start and tills the dirt to a fine texture. It is a little heavier than most tillers but this is a good thing because it wont dance around when you hit hard dirt. Instead it keeps on grinding away. The reverse feature is really handy. Once you get the hang of it you can move the tiller with ease. The only problem I had was I did loose a retaining clip on one of the tines and when I assembled tiller I had to call service to find out which was rev and which one was forward on the two cables hanging loose on tiller. Great service department the tech.looked at schematic and gave me the answer I needed. Overall this is a great tiller. I would buy again and recommend to others.( To troy-bilt changed the style of clips you are using and mark cables .I have read reviews and the clips are a problem.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase I have used this tiller now for two years and I am pleased that it starts up every time. I have used it to plow up a rose bed that is about 20 feet by 8 feet across and several times

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Reverse does not work if submerged in soil My expectation of the reverse feature is, when I get to the end of the row, engaging reverse will walk the tiller backwards to assist in turning around. The problem is, if the tines are in the dirt, it will not backup. You have to throw your back out and pull it out of the dirt first. Also, you have to let go of the handle with 1 hand to engage the lever thus making it very difficult to operate. I did adjust the reverse cable tightness to the point just before the tines reverse without the lever engaged so it is definitely tight enough. I just spent 1 hour on the phone with support and got no solution. He said it was not designed to go in reverse if it was in the dirt. (what is the point then?) The level II then hung up when I asked for manager escalation.
