Rated 1 out of 5 by from good motor awful cutter head Absolutely awful cutter head design. String cuts off before spool empty and have to take it apart again and again. Went to buy a good after market head and cannot figure out how to get old head off without a sledge hammer. Do not buy this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money and buy a better weed whip Do yourself a favor PASS ON THIS TRASH I used it twice and the head gear stripped out this has to be one of the worst things I have ever bought I know what the problem is its the attachment shaft its a good concept but not worth the trouble yes I know you can attach a blower and other things but don't get this thing if you want a weed whip buy just a weed whip with a straight shaft the attachment shaft adds vibrations to the machine and the engine is WAY to big and heavy for this thing I worked for a lawn maintenance company for 10 years and this thing wouldn't have been good to use after 5 minutes my hand started to cramp up from the weight so in summery DON'T BUY THIS

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very poor reliability I gave 3 of the 4 rating categories a "good" rating. It's a fairly powerful trimmer for its size. It was very easy to crank. Changing the attachments takes seconds. I really liked this trimmer, but it just died on me. The trimmer is 7 years old, but I only used it 4 to 5 times a year (I hate to trim grass); I'd estimate 30 hours of use at most. I changed the oil regularly, checked it regularly, and otherwise maintained the engine properly. The engine still looks practically brand new. However, the cylinder lost compression for some reason recently. It died in the middle of trimming the grass one day and I thought it had simply run out of gas. Upon trying to restart it with a fresh tank of gas, it wouldn't stay running. After checking a lot of things, I found the problem with the cylinder. It does not build up much compression at all. With the oil cover off and the crank assembly, cylinder, and piston visible, I can hear air escaping if I slowly pull on the starting cord. Completely unacceptable for an engine still so young and with little use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissatisfied I purchased theTB575EC approximately 10 months ago and have used very little. I have had problems with the spool line feed every since I have owned the trimmer, The line gets jammed inside the spool and I have to take the spool apart to get the line to feed again and it is very difficult to get the spool apart. At present time I have a problem with the pull start system, when the pull cord is pulled the engine will not turn every time the cord is pulled and when the engine does rotate it will only rotate approximately one revolution and most of the time will not turn at all. Very dissatisfied with trimmer and couldn't recommend this equipment to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from probably returning for credit I had a Ryoby for 9 years and it finaly gave out. Decided to buy a 4 cycle and got the troybuilt straight shaft. Not an easy starter,(10 pulls to prime) Idle for a minute at half choke. I can't say enough bad things about the spool. The line gets backed up inside and you almost have to break it apart when the line is behind the tabs. It gets backed up plenty with sign posts and cyclone fences. Spent more time fixing the spool head than actual trimming. One hour job became 2.5 hours. Just very poor engineering.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TB575EC Problems I have also had numerous problems with the string on the TB575EC model. I spend more time repairing the string on the spool than I do actually cutting weeds. Some of my problems with the string are as follows: the string has broken off inside the spool, The string wraps itself around the base of the unit and the string has melted around the base of the unit. I have tried taking the unit apart to replace the spool with an after-market unit, however, I cannot remove the inner reel from the unit. Nor can I remove the entire head from trimmer. I would like my spool unit to look like figure 20 in my operator's manuel. My operator's manual is for a 4-cycle gas trimmer TB575SS unit. Based on my experience, I would not recommed this unit to anyone Bilt
