Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Tiller I purchased a Pony tiller in 1989 to work a new ground for a garden. I've never been more delighted to have had this tiller. Guess what? I still have this tiller and I've not had to do anything to it except normal maintenance. I worked the ground for my garden this year and it did an excellent job. Of course, it looks old but runs good and starts on the first pull even if its been a while since I last used it. To everyone that reads this. Buy a Troy Bilt tiller and you will love it. Take care of it and it will be the last tiller you buy. Thanks, Troy Bilt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Equipment I have only had this tiller for about two months and it has performed as Troy-Built always does for me. The setup is easy. As soon as I gassed it up and put the oil in, it cranked on the 2nd pull. Since then, it cranks every time on the 2nd pull. I have been doing a lot of yard work (creating new garden/flower beds, etc.) and this tiller has been perfect in doing what it should do. Tough and durable machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Me and my Pony I bought a Pony tiller about a year ago and this is the second season I have used it for my quarter acre vegetable garden. Initial set up was a breeze. It started virtually on the first pull and was ready to work from day one. My Pony is simple to use and operation is literally one-handed just like the brochure said. I am kind of small, but I have no problems manoeuvring my Pony. Whoever put reverse on it definitely gets a big thumbs up from me. I use my Pony almost every day during planting season and quite a bit for weeding during the growing season too. No weeds can withstand the Pony's onslaught. Turning the compost heap used to be a chore, but it's child's play with my Pony. Even fall finds my Pony still working as I prepare for next season. Although I work it hard, maintaining my Pony is super easy. Oil changes require no lifting or contorting. All parts are easy to reach and standard US sizes, unlike some foreign imports. The only problem I have had was when the shear bolts broke off the depth gauge, but that was my fault and repair was not a big deal. My go-to tool used to be my cultivating fork, but now it's my Pony. I don't know how I managed without it and could kick myself for not getting one sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Started on the First Pull I have an acre and a half in a rural county and wanted to put in a garden on land that once had Dairy Cows. Once the grass was broken up the tiller had little trouble digging deeper and deeper on successive passes. I took about 2 hours to till a 50x50 plot to about 6 inches deep. The most impressive feature was that after adding the oil and checking the gear oil I put gas in the tank and the tiller started easily on the first pull! The tiller never faltered for the next two hours of heavy tilling. It is as good or better as the Troy built I bought back in 1985.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints.... I've had my Pony since 2000 and have used it in my now 500 sq ft garden since. I bought and installed the accessory engine guard as a proactive measure and if yours doesn't have one,I'd recommend you install one too-it can save a lot of money down the road in potential repairs plus makes transport easier in a truck bed. Review the manual from cover-to-cover on its proper use for the best results...don't try to till too deeply on those early passes thru the soil. For mantenance, regular oil checks and changes;tire pressure adjustments;lubrication of moving parts and lastly,double-checking the tightness of fasteners should be done periodically. In the fall,I clean it,run it out of fuel, service it then store it-and it'll be ready for spring with just gassing it up and starting it being necessary then.YOU HAVE TO KEEP UP ON THE MAINTENANCE and it'll stay like new.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pony is the best! This is my 2nd Pony. The 1st one I gave to my grandson; it was 30 yrs. old & still going strong. This new Pony is similar to the old one. Except I would like for the reverse to work better & have a longer oil dip stick. This tiller will dig to China & not work you over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tiller Period Have used Troy-Bilt for over 20 years. Easiest and best tillers I've ever tried. Not only is the engine very reliable, the transmission is bullet-proof. Never a bit of trouble and maintenance fairly easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plow Pony This tiller really works, we had rented another brand from our local co-op that wouldn't even break the soil, then we purchased the Pony, the only thing I would like is the electric start next time, as we get older the pull start is more difficult.
