Not great
This trimmer lasted about one season before it wouldn’t start, no matter what I did. It was hard to start from the beginning and would shut off in the middle of a job without cause.

Junk
Have had less than 1 year. Problem is every time I go to use it. Usually starts well but only partial power when full throttle.
Yes gas was fresh, Yes was stored inside, and yes the gas oil mixture was correct.
Went to start it today and cord broke. Not even going to fix it. Warranty? Meh, not worth the time. I lost my money and they lost a customer for life.

A Piece of Junk
I purchased this unit less than a year ago. I've used it perhaps ten times and suddenly it just stopped. I changed the spark plug and use a recommended carburetor cleaner. After testing I found that it wasn't producing a spark. Found a service center on the Troy-Bilt website and found that they didn't work on trimmers. Their words, "they aren't worth the effort". The next closest service center is two hours away. Now I'm stuck with a sorry piece of junk. I wouldn't give it even one star if that option were available.

Awesome product!!!
I received this last week, and as soon I we opened it, we put it to work. It is very light weight and easy to use, cuts great and clean. No gas smells in the house when left inside.. very easy to put away and clean.. it cuts great and super easy to swing back and forth. I have recommended this to fellow grass cutters in my area

Don’t waste your money
I would have given this 0 stars but it wouldn’t let me. This is the 4th Troy Built model that I have bought and plain and simple, it is a piece of junk. All 4 of my models stalled continuously when turned sideways to edge and continue to stall out. I use ethanol free gas to avoid engine trouble but nothing works with these cheap models. I should have learned my lesson after the second one did the same thing. Will never buy again

very bad product with very short life span
It is no longer starting up after 3 months only of use that includes one use every week or two. There is no a nearby dealer for service. This is my second one.

Run for a few minutes then won't restart
I bought this trimmer in May along with a lawn tractor. Seemed to be ok in first use but when the line ran out and I had to stop it to reload, it would not start. Thought it might have been a one time thing, but every time I shut it off to reload, it won't start. Very frustrating. Having to load string 1' at a time is a pain too. Sorry I bought this model.

Power tool - trimmer, weed wacker, etc
I have this unit for 5 years. I use the string trimmer. I would suggest better replacements for the string trimmer. They are hard to find. I have a 4 inch blade I can attach to wack bigger stuff. I also have a small tiller, that I use to turn over soil in the spring. I also have an edger. I have not tried that yet. I bought the Troy-Bilt electric starter. Works great.. Prime it, plug in the starter, crank and off you go! This uses a gas and oil mix, so you should also add a fuel stabilizer.
