Compatible Efficent
Received this trimmer as part of the Voice Program. Trimmer came in a strong box, but not an obstacle to be overcome. Right out of the box, I filled the tank with a store bought 40:1 fuel mixture and started per instructions. It is very important to follow 2-stroke starting instructions. The trimmer started on the first round of starting procedures and subsequent starting attempts - hot and warm. I have a similar model/size trimmer and a more advanced, higher power 50:1 2-stroke trimmer. This model started very easily and motor ran very well up to full throttle. Power was smooth, clean burning and steady at full power. No sputtering or lagging. The trimmer as a curved shaft trimmer was flawless. I do not like curved shaft trimmers and do not ever see the need for one. Perhaps because I am over six feet tall. An additional benefit is this trimmer will accept attachments from the Trimmer-Plus line as well as from a different brand I already have - I tried at least one other attachment. Connected easily. If you are thinking about the difference in 2 vs. 4-stroke, the advantage goes to 2-stroke in my book. Engines are lighter and no oil to carry on board and check before starting. While store bought 2-stoke fuel is expensive and I used it for this review; mixing your own 2-stroke fuel is easy and cheaper. Ethanol-free fuel is becoming more available and should be used in small engines. The relative low cost of this trimmer makes it a good tool for a smaller property. The availability of attachments is an advantage for flexibility, space, engine maintenance and repair/replacement. If the engine fails, you only need to replace it - not a whole tool. Finally, old, stale fuel is the surest way to cause poor/non running engines. Buy fuel in small quantities, stabilize at purchase, and use only fresh, properly stabilized, mixed 2-stroke fuel. Thanks for reading. I hope this helps your decision.

Most of the good reviews say received free product
This trimmer is hard to start, bumper cap does not come off to change the line. Will try to exchange for another one at Lowe's as did Vegnazy April 30, 2016.

Worst purchase ever
Trimmer never wants to start. Once it does it never runs more than a few seconds. It bogs down every time I pull the throttle even on a good day when it does run.

Poor machine
I have had this unit 3 years and after the the first year it has been nothing but a problem. I have maintained like the instructions said. It has been worked on several times. A total waste of money
