11 Years and going great!
Had mine for 12 years now and it's going great. I use it a bunch on some rough areas. Have had to change the steering link (Don't run into trees and you won't have this problem!) but nothing else but yearly oil, sparkplug, and air filter changes. The tires are even going great with the original air. I hope I can get another if this one ever dies.

Best buy in Lawn Tractor world
Mine is a 2012 model, still runs like the day I got it. Did a few to make it greater, added a high back seat, a front bumper, and painted the grill silver, old fashioned guy, like a silver grill . The mower has worked great, mow 1.5 acres here in N.Florida, season is March through October. 17.5 HP B& S is a bit noisy, but the drive system works great. Replaced belts twice, not bad as they are easy to get at. LOVE my Troy Bilt , wouldn't trade it for any other. Price was right, quality is great, performance super. .

cannot find answer to my engine running problems
I have had riding mower for just over 2 years. And now have trouble keeping the engine running for more than 3 minutes at a time. I've drained and put fresh gas in tank, replaced fuel filter, cleaned gas cap air vent, cleaned and replaced gas vent hose from tank to air filter .I've cleaned the foam air cleaner and put back on.I've removed and cleaned the pilot jet in top of carburetor with a piece of wire in passage,I've replaced the spark plug and removed bolt from side of carburetor and drained fuel out and sprayed carb cleaner in to wash out and sediments. Next I'll have to pull off the complete carburetor to remove the bowl. The mower runs great for 3 minutes.

Value for the dollar
This is my third full season of use and overall happy.Powerful and problem free B/S17.5 hp. engine.Considering the price the Pony is a Best Buy in riding mowers.Cons:turning radius is great on a right turn very poor left turn.Needs deck wheels( I noticed that some Pony’s have since been upgraded to include this necessary improvement).NOT a Husqvarna or a John Deere but nonetheless a competent performer for the size of my yard.Recommended?YES

A solid American value!
I've owned this model for three summers (summer, 2020 is my 4th season with it). It's a good, dependable, mower and it's priced much lower than 'comparable' makes/models.
