Move more snow with less effort and in record time - thanks to the Vortex 2690 three-stage snow blower. The 12" inch accelerator that makes the three stage process possible spins at 10 times the speed of the augers, breaking down the heaviest, wettest snow before throwing it out of the high-impact polymer chute. The Vortex 2690 three-stage snow blower is equipped with a reliable 357cc* Troy-Bilt engine and large X-Trac™ tires that provide extra traction when breaking through the barriers of snow left at the bottom of your driveway. Additional features include Touch 'n Turn® power steering, heated hand grips and Just One Hand® operation.

Vortex 2690 Snow Blower is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.

SIGNATURE FEATURES
  • Three-Stage Design

The 12" accelerator spins 10 times faster than the augers, first breaking down heavy, wet snow like it was fresh powder. Then, with the help of the augers, it continuously shoots snow back into the third stage impeller for discharging.

  • Touch ’n Turn® Power Steering

The Touch ’n Turn® power steering system is controlled by two easy triggers. Simply squeeze the trigger on the side you want to turn toward, and the unit’s self-propelled drive system will turn the snow thrower for you.

  • Just One Hand® Operation

Just One Hand® operation lets you guide your Troy-Bilt® snow thrower with literally one hand. Because the machine is engineered to be well-balanced and easy to control, it does the work – not you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neighborhood Beast My Troybilt is the envy of the street. When three other blowers could not handle the 29 inches of snow my Troybilt bailed the neighbors out, with the 3 stage was even able to move the piles of snow that the plows always deposit in front of the driveways.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design The different auger design will not handle small snow amounts. The intake of snow is blocked by the flat front blade. Snow is pushed rather than taken into the system. There are too many "dead" areas inside the shoot that do not have the augers clearing them resulting in the build up of snow inside the machine. The machine jams constantly. I have lost one reverse gear as control cables loose proper tension. This is an awful design. I will be selling this unit and purchasing another brand. Do not buy this machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent purchase This snow blower was a great choice. It worked extremely well. I did my driveway and 5 others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performed as expected I used it for the first and only time this winter, last week - as we only got one good snow all winter. I caution first timers to add the initial oil little by little while checking the fill level each time. I initially read that the oil capacity was 37fl oz so had nearly poured an entire 32 oz quart into it before bothering to check the fill level - and it was way over the MAX mark; so I had to find the oil drain plug and drain a lot of it out before the fill level was appropriately beneath the MAX mark. Started up as expected and ran smoothly. The one snow we got wasn't more than 4-5 inches but it was wet and heavy and the depth on the street after the plows came by was substantially deeper - and the 357hp engine on this model handled throwing it clear of the road about 20 feet, so I imagine when it's deeper and drier snow it'll throw it at least 30-40 feet. Very happy with the purchase and looking forward to next winter to exercise it some more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLEY THE CHUTE DOES NOT MOVE AND THE MACHINE MOVES FORWARD ON REVERSE #1. THE THROWER SHOULD BE CHECKED PROPERLY BEFORE SELLING
