TB30 E Lithium-Ion Riding Mower

30" 56-volt max, 1500 watt-hour lithium-ion electric riding mower

Model No. 131Z27JD711

Say “Hi” to the first lithium-ion riding mower. The TB30 E is uncommonly powerful, cutting up to one hour without power fade, and recharging in as few as four hours. No other battery mower can do that. It’s also convenient – eliminating the mess and hassle of gas. It’s agile – able to fit through a 30" fence gate. It’s quiet – allowing you to cut any time of day or night. And it’s compact – storing in the same space as a walk-behind mower. Explore the TB30 E battery rider on our interactive product page.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great New Product! I bought this lithium-ion riding mower for my 3/4 acre lot at an end of season discount from Lowes, and I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first. While in the store I checked online for reviews and there was only a few, which were all positive. I wondered if this small mower that was battery operated had enough power to do the job or will the battery last long enough to cut my lawn, which is relatively level. I took a calculated risk and purchased the mower knowing if I was not satisfied I could always return it for a refund within 30 days. Two of my neighbors were on hand to help me unload the 300lb unit from my truck and watch my inaugural cut. They were both eager and skeptical about this riding mower as they had never seen or heard about a lithium-ion mower. I turned the key on, press the start button and floored the accelerator. All I can say is that this little silent rocket zipped across my lawn like mini Tesla, and I was done in 15 to 20 minutes. The cut was amazing, and it made my yard look like a golf course when I was done. My neighbors could not believe it was possible and commented on how fast it moved and how silent. Sadly, I do have one complaint! When I bought the mower from Lowes, they said that the battery charger was in the back of the store and they could not locate it at the time of purchase. They assured me they would call me and let me know when I can come and pick it up. Unfortunately, after two days of waiting, I was told they were unable to find the charger and I could either return the unit or contact Troy-Bilt for a replacement. Well, therein lies the problem, Troy-Bilt indicated they were having some issues with Lowe’s stores taking the chargers and directing customers to call them for a replacement. I said to the representative I will cut my losses and buy the charger from you as I am very pleased with the performance of the mower. I was then told that they do not have any in stock and don’t expect it will be available until late November. I find this completely unacceptable from a company this size with a new revolutionary product. Now it looks like I have to return this mower to Lowes as Troy-Bilt are unable to provide me with a replacement before my store warranty is up. What a pity, a great product with poor support and a bad distribution retailer. I hope the presidents of both companies read this review and fix the situation. I am sure the money invested in bringing this product to market is worth more than the cost of having some extra chargers in stock or allowing the mismanagement of products at the distribution level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love mowing my lawn I have mowed my yard 4 times and look forward to the next time. I have a 1/4 acre yard and mow twice on one charge with battery left. I am going to try 3 times next. This mower does everything you could ask for. Buy one if you can find one. You will not be sorry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little machine It gets the job done. It's made in America. I only wish it had anti scalp wheels. You have to be very careful that you don't scalp your lawn. It happened a few times to me. I would like to be able to add them if I knew which ones would work. The battery had more than enough juice to finish my lawn. There was 51% left over. How long it will last remains to be seen. I was very lucky to get it 30% off at Lowe's so I'm pretty happy about that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little riding mower I bought my mower 3 days ago and cut my yard with ease. I am very happy with my purchase, it rides really well, is well responsive. The safety features on here can be annoying at times, but I respect safety in all ways.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! And a few nit picks I have mowed once so far and this mower is awesome! The 1 hr 1 acre claim is real. Unlike a traditional mower you do need to turn the deck on however this is better from a safety standpoint and the fact that you can use the mower withoit the deck on. The 1 hr claim is with the deck ON. The length with the deck off has got to be a lot more as the deck is what will take a lot of power. Itll grt a bit of getting used to but I am already good to go after one use. The nit picks: the body is mainly plastic I wish it were more rugged. It will absorb impact without cracking so I feel this is ok. The display control unit I wish would toggle between what mode you are in and your current charge percentage - please make that an update in the next model (example show that the deck is on then show charge and toggle back and forth every 2 seconds). Also the display control is not backlit so operating at night if there is action you need to do you cant see it at night, yet there is a headlight...seems like a slight oversight-please update in the next model. The nitpicks are 1% of the overall experience which is greatly outweighed by the 99% wonderful experience! I highly recommend this without a doubt!
