Rated 5 out of 5 by from After hours of research/years of experience Have years of experience with Troybilt so lean to them. Also have decades experience with engines. I was curious about a two year "wear out" from a number of reviewers so called Troybilt tech support. Two years for a Troybilt engine sounded fishy to me. Tech support verified my feeling. A two year failure is a case of "the nut behind the wheel". Several years ago my wife seized a Troybilt mower by running it out of oil. Duh! I went and bought another and it ain't quit yet. She learned what not to do. But the very helpful tech guy made some added hints I pass on here. Try to use alcohol free gas. I don't care what EPA says, the stuff ain't good for small engines!! End of season maintenance is important for a long engine life. 1] Start the engine to warm it up to operating temp; shut it off and dump the fuel tank. Then restart and run until it stops. [gets all gas out of the carb]. Dump the engine oil from a warm engine and refill with quality single grade 30wt. oil [use the oil bottle supplied by Troybilt for a proper fill]. Note: I've found that much of the single grade oil is cheap; choose carefully from your local auto store. If you must save the gas in your can, put stabilizer in it. Th-th-that's all folks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Right size I have had my blower for one year and it is the best thing I have invested in. It is light enough for my wife to use on our lot where we have several trees that loves to drop leaves year round. It prevents us from a lot of racking and bending to gather the leaves so we can see our grass. It is dependable and has enough pressure to blow leaves in a pile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a machine! This blower was used as part of our GAC program. Starts everytime and works very well. It's a little heavy for a teen but easily usable for an adult. What a wonderful addition to our landscaping trailer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TroyBilt 4-cycle blower I have owned this TB4 for 3 years. Living in deep oak and pine woods means a lot of fall cleanup for weeks without end. This blower is a treat to use and maintain. It uses practically NO gasoline and will blow an arc of leaves in front of you almost as fast as you can sweep side to side and walk. I changed the 30W HD oil every 5 hours for the first 5 oil changes: the engine is built "tight" and there will be some cylinder wall iron worn off as it breaks in. Normal. I ordered two extra spark plugs and a rear cover/starter mechanism for spares and have not need them yet. Excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Gas, Good Get Up'n Go! I initially filled the unit was stabilized fuel that was nonetheless old (purchased at least eight months before). The performance was pitiful. The engine seemed like it was idling even at full throttle. So I removed the fuel, and replaced it with fresh premium gas. What a difference! Now the blower gathers the leaves into large piles, and moves those piles with ease (think nice big leafy bow wave), Tip: use the cruise control instead of merely "goosing" the throttle. With the cruise control, the engine ramps up to full power and stays there. If you control the engine speed with the trigger, the engine takes time to ramp up with each trigger pull, so the average engine speed (and your satisfaction) is lower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Product I got this backpack blower to replace a hand held one that failed finally after 3 years. I have a small yard (1/3 acre) but lots of trees and leaves. I like the design, it is easy to start and overall does a great job. No complaints! Potential design improvements for the next model (pay attention Troy-Bilt...:)) - Quieter, always room for improvement here! - Put the starter handle in an easy to reach (and pull) place while wearing the backpack; having to start it and then put it on is a bit cumbersome. - Are 3 positions for the choke really necessary? - The small rectangular cover falls off easily when I brush the blower pack against bushes, it needs to be more securely mounted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts my time in half! I am on 4 acres. 1.5 of it is lawn surrounded by trees/woods. I am a single female and do all of my own yardwork. I was looking for a leaf blower to make my yardwork easier/quicker. This is one of the best investments I have made since owning my own house and it has cut my time in half. I used to have to rake my leaves and sweep my grass. I purchased this leaf blower 2 years ago and I use it to blow my leaves (ALOT of leaves! :)), to blow the grass off of my patio and sidewalk, blow out my 16 X 16 shed and to blow the grass off/out of my lawn mower. I love it, no problems whatsoever and would HIGHLY recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Blower Was tired of the hand held blowers and I'm glad I purchased this one. It starts on the first pull, the power is great, it’s fairly light, and the way it is designed it keeps my back cool with a breeze. I had one problem with it. The starter rope broke on me but I replaced it minutes with a stronger one. My only complaint is the oil reservoir. The cap is hard to install and take off. All in all I’m happy with the purchase.
