Diagnose & Troubleshoot Zero-turn Mowers

Common Symptoms:

Engine fails to start

Possible Causes Corrective Actions

1PTO/Blade Engage knob engaged

Place knob in disengaged (OFF) position

Parking brake not engaged

Engage parking brake

Drive control levers not full outward in neutral position

Move drive control levers fully outward in neutral position

Spark plug wire(s) disconnected

Connect wire(s) to spark plug(s)

Throttle/Choke control lever not in correct starting position

Place throttle/choke lever to choke position

Choke not activated

Push throttle/choke control lever to choke position

Fuel tank empty or stale fuel

Fill tank with clean, fresh (less than 30 days old) gas

Blocked fuel line

Clean fuel line and replace fuel filter

Faulty spark plug(s)

Clean, adjust gap or replaces plug(s)

Engine flooded

Crank engine with throttle in FAST position
